Erik - that's close to a move to a third world country. In 1986, I did the opposite and escaped from Louisiana to Colorado.

I suppose some people ( including me ) might think that comparing Louisiana to third world countries insults the third world countries. BTW, I'm a native of Baton Rouge and have a BSEE from LSU.

Fortunately for me, I've mostly been self-employed for the last fourty years so having a degree from LSU hasn't been a problem. I've always preferred to learn on my own anyway. I've always considered that school and classes is the slow way to learn. Yes, I'm the President of VibroTek, Inc. but that's almost like being self-employed, at least the good parts of self-employment.

For those in Oil and Gas we see lots of folks from LSU. Sometimes the Aggies keep them at bay. Wink . It can be the other way around also.

My first job two semesters before LSU graduation was at the Collins Radio Company, now a division of Rockwell, in Richardson, Texas. My boss was a UT graduate, a tea sipper according to one of my Aggie colleagues. My boss asked two questions at my job interview, one of which was, "What's the difference between a blue eyed Aggie and a brown eyed Aggie?" It's amazing that I got the job because the interview happened the day after LSU stomped Texas in the Cotton Bowl.
