Jenish,

I'm not real sure what you mean. If you mean is there any way to find out what bearings are in the gearbox, I call the manufacturer and get them. They have been pretty good about telling me when I explain what it is I'm after and why.
For Falk, I use their software for most of the bearings, and the ones I can't find I call them too.

Thanks again for all.
After reviewing all your input, we think only some minor modification is required for our offline database...and start drawing more schematic diagram template for reporting:
We intend to keep 3 character point tag:
1st: use as component identification (M=motor, G=Gearbox, P=Pump,etc)
2nd: counter (1, 2, 3, etc) for each component..
3rd: direction, use H-V-A for horizontal and X-Y-Z for vertical, and will refer to ISO13373 series for detail.
And to be consistent on Odd and Even number in regards closer or far from the viewer or driver unit.

feel free to give any further input..thanks

Probably the only other thing I do that I haven't mentioned is adding "extra data points".

I may have a 3600 RPM machine for a given resolution on a PdM route but also want additional info ever-so-often. So I may collect the Pos AH point and add an AH1 (lower freq) and/or an AH5 (hi-freq). After years it's automatic to know what the extra point is.

Cordially,
Sam

Sam, good points...
We do have measurements at same locations with 2 or more different settings...and with different name conventions. So far, we have standard tag only for bearing detection, now you remain us about this, we will look into standardizing other configuration tag as well...thanks

Dave,

What i mean was, how the manufaturers denote their bearing positions on a multi stage gearbox? Are they normally use the DE/NDE positions like us?

Have a nice day!!

To tell you the truth I don't remember, if I ever paid any attention.
Most of the time, the bearings are the same on both sides, with the general exception of the output shaft generally has different bearings. I think they denote that as "output", but again I can't be sure.

If I can think of it, I'll look at some of the sheets I have from them.
