We are experiencing a download problem with an 8 meg memory card used with a 1500.
There were 5 routes loaded and collected on the card. When I closed the last route I only had 10K of free memory left on the card. When downloading route data into Odyssey the first 4 routes downloaded with no problems. The 5th route download keeps locking up the program, giving the following fatal error message: epm exe app Name: epm.exe AppVer: 8.2.0.0 Mod Name txmgr32.dll ModVer10.18.0.0 Offset:00006136 The questions I have are as follows: 1) Have any product users had similar problems? 2) Could you tell me if the problem is with the data collector, the card or the Odyssey program itself? 3) And most importantly, can the data (5th route)on the card be saved or is that data unsalvageable at this point? Any help or advice received would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help & assistance. Best regards, Gary Forsythe |

Are you using a card reader to download?
Have you tried unloading with the serial connection to see if it works that way. Put the card back in the collector (if you removed it) open the "memory card" option and see if that route is locked. You can try unlocking it. This has happened to me usually with high resolution data (6400lor). Especially if it's off route data. Worst scenario here is that you may lose the data from route 5. Hope this helps. ensing-dot-ron-at-irvingtissue-dot-ca |

Gary,
First of all, I was told a few years ago that the dataPAC has problems handling 8 meg cards. I don’t’ know if that issue has been fixed or not. I use 6 meg cards without any problems. The following assumes you have a card reader: Insert a different card (not the problem card) and delete all the files on it. (I suggest you use a 4 or 6 meg card if you have one) and initialize it with the dataPAC utility. Remove the newly initialized card and insert the problem card into the computer. Zip all the files on your problem card into a file and save it in case this procedure doesn’t work. Put your problem card back into the dataPAC and open the Memory Card Manager. Delete all the routes except the 5th route (the route you want to recover. Make sure the 5th route is not locked. If it is, unlock it. Return to the Main Menu, turn the dataPAC off and remove the card. Put the problem card in the card reader and open Windows Explorer. Expand the “db†folder then expand the “routes†folder. Create a new temporary folder on your computer and copy all the files in the problem card’s “routes†folder to the temporary folder. Remove the card and insert the newly initialized card. Copy all the files from the temporary folder on your computer to the “routes†folder on the newly initialized card. Try to download the card in Odyssey. If this does not work, you can delete all the files on the problem card and unzip the file you created earlier onto the problem card and you will be back where you started----------with a bad card. Gook luck, John J |

Gary,
I agree with John J., the 8 meg card is un reliable in the 1500. I only use the 6 megs one too. Don't have any problems (either with the card, or having enough storage space). Dave |
