Good day to all,
Can anybody advice me the MIL STD for vibration severity for Navy- marine diesel engine. Max speed at 1700 rpm of the main port and the propeller system at ratio of 4. i face some difficulty on collecting the data for the 1st time ( non magnetic surface). And have recommended to install permenant sensors for each bearing location. If you guys, have experience on this application, most appreciate if can advice me. Thanks & best regards, Joe |

Well to be brutal i would suggest ISO 10816-? that goes for reciprocal devices. It does require a input from the producer......
So if you have 40mm/s RMS on the turbo mount, that is too much. There is a old standard for that kind of devices that I can retrieve. How can your surface be none magnatic? I have used a lot of points on the main brg´s of the diesel and they are normally very magnetic.... If you find 1xRPM, balancing at the flywheel make a difference. Olov |

Thx Oli for your feedback. This engine used for Navy routine to guard coast. If this surface not neutralize(am not sure what terms) to non magnectic, it will be visible in enemy's radar.
