Hi

dear Sirs

How can i konw the slip frequency from the spectrum.

slip frequency= synchrounous speed- actual speed

to calculate it i shoud use the tachometer to measure the actual speed or i can know it from the spectra.

thank you

Taske a high res reading. Suggest 12000 F-max with 6400 Lines. That will get you within 1.875 (I think) RPM.

Both. You can feed a signal into the TTL or as suggested you can use a hi-res, low frequency base-band spectrum or zoom in if your analyzer has that function.

Cordially,

In most cases, the spectrum should be enough.

For a precise estimate of frequency from spectrum, in addition to using high resolution, you should be familiar with your software's "peak label" feature (L key in E-monitor). It should give a much more precise estimate of frequency than simply using the center of the bin than the highest magnitude.

Put your cursor on the peak that you believe is the RPM. Hit the "L" key. It will label the peak as to what the frequency actually is. It's a little closer than just putting the cursor where it appears to be at the highest amplitude.

You can also use the "F" key (fine movement of cursor) and get to the same place many times.
