Hi all,
Does anyone have any experience with rotary screw compressors? We have 2 York compressors on our site. We take vib readings in the horizontal at each end of the 2 shafts in both standard and peakvue readings. All the standard readings on one of these compressors are showing an increasing rotor mesh frequency with harmonics even though the trend for these have been very stable over a number of years now. The load on this machine has actually reduced over the last few readings due to cooler weather. I have attached a screen shot from one of the points for reference. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Doc3.doc (34 Kb, 44 downloads) |

Just a guess
But if they are like the gearless ammonia compressors that I have run across(which I am still trying to figure out)they seem to run smoother when they are fully loaded. The swing from load to unload can be dramatic and very noticeable audibly as well. Alan |
