Bill,
I don't think I need any input from BN. The proximity proboes are radially mounted and this vibration is only in the axial direction. Thanks, Danny |

BN only made one transmitter, the 990. The transmitter resembles a proximitor but has four terminals. You can directly attach a battery powered instrument with a 1 meg input impedance to the PROX OUT and COM terminals. However the manual cautions that the phase is inverted from the normal BN standard and a false alarm might result from connecting grounded ac devices to these terminals. To properly use its output for diagnostic purposes the user should use a P/N 122115-01 test adapter.
Now, early on in this thread you were using the units of ips, the 990 was for proximity probes. Seems to be a disconnect here? John from PA 990_transmitter.pdf (241 Kb, 5 downloads) |

John,
The proximity sensors are radially mounted and this is a purely axial vibration, so I am not concerned about the BN tramsmitters anymore. Thanks for the info though, you can never have enough of that. I have gotten some input from someone at Cooper (now Cameron) and I'll post some more info after he looks at the spectra. (Nobody thought to send the vibration data to the vibration guy Thanks, Danny |

The vibration guy at the factory says that the amplitude is so low that it is not of concern.
He hasn't responded yet (hasn't had time) to my reiterated concerns over the drastic change immediately after the rebuild. I'm attaching the data I sent. Any comments? Thanks again, Danny ppcompressor.doc (75 Kb, 14 downloads) |
