Hi to everyone,

I have found a list with details of the above in a 2120 user manual but am suspicious about whether it represents what the latest effective values in latest frimware are. I know that some older 2120's used different discreet values (fewer in total) and at a certain time additional discrete increments were added to avoid too large a stepups in Fmax when using order based analysis parameter sets. Does anyone have the latest list? Or am I imagining things. I have looked on Dr. Know @ www.compsys.com tech notes and can't find. Help...? I have good relationship with CSI reps so don't take too much time, I can resort to that avenue. Rgds.

When you start your 2120, the 3rd screen lists the firmware version and a designation like HV1, HV2 or HV3. This will tell you what fmax settings are available. As far as I know they havn't changed in years.

I sure wish there was something between 120,000 and 300,000 cpm for PeakVue. I guess you can probably get that for about $25k on the 2130. Roll Eyes

This is what I have:

Thanks Danny, appreciate that.

I have HV1, frimware v7.45d. Is it the case that HV2 & 3 are available with later updates, or are these dictated by the age of the 2120? (ie internal electronics) Could you let me know?(if you know?) Rgds

If you have Hardware version 1, you can't upgrade to HV2 or HV3 by a simple update. For that you have to swap the analog board with a HV2 or HV3. From HV2 upgrading to HV3, it's another story. This can be done by replacing some electronic components on the analog board and changing bits in the EEPROM (for that you need to send it back to the OEM).

I'm pretty sure that what Cormatech said is correct.

I have a 2120-2 and a Consultant that have different fmax sets. The Consultant is older and has 7.45c/HV2 and the 2120-2 has 7.45A/HV3.

The Consultant was upgraded from a 2120-2 a few years ago but still has the older fmax sets despite the newer firmware.

Thanks Cormatech & Danny,

Thought as much that it would be hardware related. 2120 is quite old so hardware will have bits accordingly. Am asking CSI reps (am under maint contract) to see if I can wrangle an upgrade during calibration. In the past they have been fantastic. Last year they updated a 2115 to new - like the day it was bought 12 yrs ago, and other 2120's have been updated from old to consultant version for free!!! (under maint agreement). Truly fantastic value for the big $$$ maint agreement. But hey, when you want a Rolls Royce for BMW 745 price, what the heck, there's nothing like the best - forget the rest. Rgds (so HV means hardware version #)
