A lot of random High frequency energy is present from Peakvue. Possibly due to underlubrication. Try autocorrelation, possibly some periodic signal can be fished out. Try also lubing and see if it helps.

Your PeakVue shows an elevated floor of energy and more random like waveform. It should be a case of lubrication deficiency. Try lubing it as David said. Smiler

One thing that would concern me is the high velocity amplitudes present on the inboard bearing. That looks like a possible loose condition to me. You may try lowering your PV High pass to 500Hz or possibly try a 100-500 band pass. The high amplitude low frequency peaks that are present indicate a problem other than lubrication. Peakvue is a great tool, but IMO you still need to verify what you are seeing in other ways as well. Either by adjusting the HP filters, taking high frequency readings, etc. I'm not saying lubrication isn't as issue as well, based on your inboard velocity readings, that are showing possible haystacking which also goes along with lurication issues. It culd be that your OB bearing has already gone through this stage and is why the looseness is showing up. In either case, this bearing needs to be looked at relactively soon I would think.

Good morning, I have a couple of questions to throw out: What is the fan mount arrangement; direct couple, belt driven,on isolators, etc..? Has the integrity of the base been checked? Do you have any trending data? and of course, What effect did relubrication have?
I also noted that it appears as if 2x turning speed is pretty dominate.
Thanks, Jeff

Your high pass filter is set to 20000 hz which will filter out any relevant data.

For standard set-up use the hp filter that is equal to or greater than your fmax. In you case, I would recommend a 1000 hz hp filter but like others have said you may get better results by trying different filters but 20000hz is way too high for what you are doing.

Danny,

Are you referring to the original post's data or someone else's data? The original is 2000 Hz isn't it? Or am I lost? Smiler

I "thought" it said 20000 as well. Good thing there is only 1 Monday in a week. Considering the RPM, and the fact I generally use a 2 pole magnet, I would set up a 1000hz HP.(all depends on the application)

Jeff's and my failing eyesight doesn't change any of the advice given as far as I am concerned.

I was born in that lovely town. I don't guess things have changed much since 1958 have they?

Eyesight isn't failing, sometimes us old folks have to enlarge things where they are a little bit clearer. Smiler
