Does anyone know how to write an analysis parameter in RBMWare to collect motor current signatures with a CSI 2120?

There are several papers on motor current analysis on the CSI Web site that will guide you on setup.

Warning:::

one AP Set will not fit all motors. The sensitivity depends on the point of data acquisition, meaning::: direct line connection or some point that is ratioed down through a CT.
The "clamp's" sensitivity has to be divided by the ratio of the transformer when taken on some point other than the direct line points.
Example: If the CT ratio is 300:5, then the sensitivity has to be divided by 60.

The rest of the setup is straight forward.

Only my opinion and I could be totally wrong.

I have searched the CSI site (www.compsys.com) and found nothing more than vague sales literature. I did not see any links or support information that would give me the information I'm seeking. Please give me the complete link to the section of their site that will document the analysis parameter.

Walt,

If you don't know, then just tell me. "Back to school and do your homework"? Please put your ego aside and offer some help or stay home.

I did manage to write an analysis paramter for our 2120-2, but I think I'm missing something. I've been collecting this data for nearly 25 years, but it's been almost ten years since I've set up a program. I'm in a management role now and have been asked by our PdM group for help. I know there is a setup parameter for this and I'd like to get it. If you have it, please forward it to me. I really don't want to go back to "school", since this is no longer my primary role. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Jim,

As far as I know there is no single "analysis parameter" for motor current analysis. How do I know what you are missing unless you provide a listing of your settings?
One or more "Analysis Parameter Sets" can be defined that are usefull for motor current analysis. The basic set that CSI includes in the EXAMPLE.DAT file has F-max of 80 Hz, 1600 lines, and 2 averages. I gave you three CSI references that have all of the info necessary.
My "dry humor" comment regarding homework was simply related to this time of year when people young an old are going back to school!!

Jim,

Are you setting up with an accelerometer to read electrical frequencies, or are you using an amp probe and actually looking at the current?

Are you wanting an AP Set or are you having trouble setting up the measurement point for collecting data with the current clamp?

One doesn't know what to email if one is not sure what is wanted. The measurement point setup is as important as the AP Set.

What vesrion of RBMware are you running? If you are running no higher than 4.81, extract and email me the machine in question and I will look at it for you and set up the point and AP Set and email it back.
