Is there a way to create a universal set of AP and AL sets that can be inserted into any database?

Do you mean into any database, skf, csi, etc?

Ralph,
No. I keep all my clients in separate RBMWare databases but would like to be able to use the same ap and al sets in all databases without having to recreate it each new database. Danny |

Using DButly you can copy AP and AL sets from whatever *.rbm you have. Open the 'to' and 'from' dbs, find the set you want and drag it over. I believe you get the option to replace the set or create a new one in the recipient file.

Patrick,
Thanks! I'll try it out real soon. Danny |

Patrick is correct.
It is simple to get them into another database but you have to be careful when doing this. If you choose the wrong option and the over write occurs, there might be some wrong ones on some points you did not want them to be. Just make sure you want to do what you tell it to do. Assigning globally after putting them there would be the next step. |

"Do you mean into any database, skf, csi, etc?"
Oh now i get it. Vibration Analysis programs communicating with one another. It was a joke. Very funny I guess it could happen.... I'm sure that (like many other global functions) this could really screw things up in my 35 or so databases, so I'll be very careful what I do. Danny |

Danny,
There is a way, it is not recommended, and I have not tried it, so if it screws things up don't call me or CSI's support line. I have been told that if you change the extension of the file rbmwizard.mbr in your custdata folder to rbmwizard.rbm you can add it to your database list, change the AP and AL sets in Database Setup and Management, then rename the extension to mbr. When you use the Wizard, it will now apply the new AP/AL sets. Again, I have not tried this, and don't know if it will work. Rich |
