Here old freon use is banned due to environment implications and either some new freon or ammonia is used in refrigeration systems. Swapping to ammonia kills the old Bently probes on compressors and my replacement supplier says that ammonia compatible probes are a engineering extra. Anyone tried a solution that survive ammonia 100% dry? Olov

Bently does make a ceramic tipped ammonia compatable probe, or at least they used to...

I think SKF, and Metrix do as well...
