GT #2 LP FORWARD VIBRATION VT 1030A VALUES HUNTING UP TO 22 MM. normally goes 11 mm/sec to 22 mm/sec. Even our OEM GE is trying to solve this but they couldnt?? Could you please suggest us to go betterment??

Are you talking about a particular frequency that is hunting??
If its at once per rev could it be beating? Is the "hunting" periodic? I think you need to provide much more information for someone on this forum to help you Jim P |

Can you post some spectrums. what's the speed of GT. is it the 1X component which is hunting..??

really sorry for the delay.
Its not having software and its LM 6000 Machine online vibration hunting. Since there is no high vibration in Rear side..we thought its instrumentation problem... |

tilting pad bearing? both probes having similar behaviour? any sign of subharmonics in the spectrum? if both probes having similar hunting behaviour, it is very much a genuine vibration. if it is only 1 probe, as you mentioned, you should get instrument team to look at the possibility of loose probe mounting.
we experience hunting vibration at one of our steam turbine. 1 probe was having like 20 to 30 um up down jump whereas the other probe is only about 5um jump. the other side of the turbine was normal. upon inspection, it was found out that 1 of the 5 pads was not in position and it is freely sliding. |
