I have Entek Odyssey V2.3 and Eshape V3.0 that I am trying to get running on XP. Eshape installs but does not recognize the hardware key(dongle) being installed. I searched the forum and found a post that says you need to change the POI timing, any details on how to do this? As for the Odyssey program I am having troubles getting the system to open the database. But my first goal is getting the key working.
Thanks in advance, Dennis |

Search for "eregedit". Open this and scroll down to the POI timers, there are 3. Reset the value to 1000. This should work. However, I'm not sure if 2.3 is going to work with XP. As far as the database goes, you will probably have to install them using the SQL.ini editor. If you need help with this, email me direct. By the way, do you have a support agreement? I'm happy to do this for nothing but maybe I should charge a percentage of the Entek rate.

Dennis, I notice you're in Wyoming. I did a 7000 mile road trip last summer with my teenage son and we spent a night camping at the Devil's Monument. Also saw Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore. That's a beautiful area of the country.

Thanks for the advice, that got Eshape to recognize the key! Next I need to get the database up.
Unfortunately we don't have a support agreement, we have started up a plant that was mothballed several years ago and we are trying to get a vibration program going again. We use CSI at our other facility and I would like to be able to get equipment data from the old database for setup puposes. I agree, that area is beautiful! I really enjoy riding my motorcycle up there, northern Wyoming and South Dakota around Sturgis and Deadwood have some great riding opportunities. Thanks Again, Dennis |

Ok Dennis, you need to run the SQL.ini editor to validate the databases.
START/PROGRAMS/CENTURA/SQL EDIT CONFIGURATION UTILITY. SELECT -- WINDOWS NT AND SERVER CLICK CONFIGURE SELECT -- SINGLE USER CLICK OK SELECT -- SQL.INI CLICK OK DBNTSRV NAME SHOULD BE [server1,sqlapipe] CLICK SETUP SELECT -- SCAN FOR DATABASES THEN VALIDATE DATABASES. SELECT -- OK, OK, EXIT. This will "validate" any databases that exist in the Centura folder. If this doesn't work then you'll need to verify the location of the databases. Hope this helps. ensing-dot-ron-at-irvingtissue-dot-ca |

Just a note, we are still using Oddyssey 2.3 and it works fine on XP.

Dennis,
If you can't get it to work, e-mail me and we'll get in touch by phone. I can walk you through it if need be. Dave |

Thank you for your help!
I am away from the plant until the end of the week, I will try again when I get back. vibbase- I went through the SQL.ini editor and was able to set the database up, Scan and Validate but when I start Emonitor it reports an error opening database file. (I can't remember the exact error message) This is with a new install trying to open a new database as per installation instructions. Also get same error message when I set it up to use the old database..? I'll check it out Thursday, hopefully. Dennis, |

OK Dennis, there is one more step depending on the message. You have to click retry and then type the database name in the appropriate field. The default user is ENTEK and the password is EUSER. Also, the default user name and password have to be in your registration entries for the software. That's another step. I can help you out with that as well if you need it.

Here is the path for checking your entries;
Select Start Click on run and type in "regedit" and hit enter. This takes you to the Registry Editor Select; HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/EntekIRD/Common/Database. Here you'll see the Database, Password and User values. You can click on each one and set the right value so, your database name should be here. Again, Password = EUSER, User = ENTEK Good luck. ensing-dot-ron-at-irvingtissue-dot-ca |
