Hi all, We have a new vibration problem in our company, we have a grinder that have high vibration in some moments, when it happen the spectrum show the frequency of 900cpm with an amplitude of 21mm/seg at vertical direction on the motor’s points.

The speed of motor is 1800cpm and the grinder is 3600 cpm coupling by pulley-belt.
It has a flexible base that vibrate at 900cpm too when it occurs.

I would thank any comment if you have any experience or knowledge about this.

Regards and thanks,

Fabian and Hidalberto.

sounds like you need a balancer on that grinder, or a vibration limit switch. that vibration could be coming from a number of areas, its most likely the spindle, but whatever it is, its causing hefty damage the more it vibrates. check out balancing, or vibration limit switches. where are you located? i have a couple of companys i know of, it just depends on where you are.
