What would be the typical cost of a portable vibration analyzer (with route function) with the necessary software to transfer and communicate with the computer ? The software must be capable of analysis also.

Any website references will also be appreciated.

There are a number of collectors but fewer with auto-diagnostics and few that you can have confidence in.

I would look at a number of vendors to include vtab.com and conditech.com also owned by a contributor to this board. They have a number of portables that may interest you for your particular needs.

Cordially,
Sam

There are several systems out there however Commtest Inc has a very powerful 2 channel hand held with Vista compliant software that sells for under 20K US. This comes with a 5 year warranty, 2 plane balancing kit, coast down/run up, bump test, long timewave form, and on and on.

I have used SKF, Entek and CSI during my time in this field and I would not trade my Commtest VB7 for any of these other systems.

here is the web site for Commtest www.commtest.com

Neilr,

I have heard that the Comtest uses multiplexing to get the two channels instead of two individule channels. Do you know if that is true or not?

Thanks,
