Dear all,
we have dual channel csi 2130 analyzer along with balancing kit comprizing of phototach 404b with internal power supply(from instrument) and required bnc cables, earlier we have used this for 4-5 balancing jobs by using single channel coiled cable accelerometer, recently our coiled cable got damaged and by using dual channel mux adapter straight cable we are doing balancing after 1-2 balancing that photatach is not sensing the trigger we have checked the power supply it is ok! options also ok we have tried with diffrent balancing set up(using mux enabled, disabled etc,.), we have also tried by changing voltage sensitivity to 2.0 volts to 1.0volts even -1.0 volts also still there is a problem please can anybody guide in this matter |

If you have a speedvue laser speed sensor you can use it by setting the tach sensitivity to 1.0.

dear appa rao/randle thanks for your suggestions we are supposed to procure external powr supply & we don't have speed vue is it really helpful for accessing from 3-4 ft distance as rightnow we are facing lot of troubles with 404b as some of the equipment we cannot access from nearest.

I would check the reflective tape. There have been times the tach would not see the tape or see it intermittently giving errors. I have used reflective tape that is often used on trucks and trailers. It works well and can be wiped off if it gets some grease or dirt on it.

I have created a tech note on tht 404 phototach and attached it. Try the things suggested in the note and email me if you still have problems
