We have gotten a 2 week Trial Version of MEScope and it looks like to me like it is not user friendly.

Can someone point me in a direction that would aid in, at the least, understanding what to and where to start. I have looked and the more I look the worse off I get. Read the tutor book and still totally confused.

We are considering using this but need to know a little more before committing.

Maybe I am just too old and thick headed to see what I am supposed to be doing.

ANy help will be greatly appreciated. Cool

I have done a search here and did not see any basic help. Frowner

I have used it but been a while. It is not too difficult once you get into it.
Are you planning on using it for ODS or full Modal? What kind of analyzer do you have?
IS th trial version availbale on the Internet?

Ralph,

To get the most out of the MEScope Software, I would recommend going to a 3 day class as it will save you a lot of time and grief. I took the class this past July and I now have confidence that all my models are truly representative. -DD

True , a class would help, but can't attend one right now. The only one they have that I know of right now is in California and I am in Missisippi. Smiler

Still I think it could be a little less unfriendly to get acquinted with, especially if they are going to let people try it for 2 weeks.

The cost is a little high to buy it in the dark and then it not be what you need.

Contact this fellow below for training. He is sharp; I completed his training for MeScope and have been very successful in utilizing this training. The only advice I would have for you is begin small. For example the software has a five point line that you can animate after processing it in the software after readings. This might be the best course for a two week trial since it is already created in the software. I utilized a Microlog 40 dual channel. Make sure you have a roving accelerometer and a fixed or stationary accelerometer. It will take a while to find a comfort zone, but keep at it and you will see a lot of machine dynamics you never imagined could happen.

I agree with JB; I attended one of Dan's classes a few years ago at TA it was very informative. We use the ODS feature here. It takes a while to create the models but after you get the hang of it it's not bad. One thing you will need is the Vibpro software to transfer your data from RBMware to the MeScope program.

Ralph,

Tony DeAmatto at Moibus (I think) is another source for ME Scope training (once again, I think).

You can find him here.

Hello Ralph.

I use ME'scope all of the time doing modal and ODS jobs. I also teach a course on the software and making modal and the ODS/modal process. My next course is spring 2008 in Niagara Falls, NY.

I'm happy to help you now any way I can. I can send you a finished project that you can use to help become familiar with the software and also provide telephone support to get you going. No charge, of course.

Drop me a note if you would like some help

Thanks for the mention Danny.

I do teach Mobius Institute vibration courses in the US but I have my own business and teach a few courses of my own.

Ralph,
Have you tried doing an ODS with your two channel analyzer and the Cross Channel Phase option. If so please compare it with the data you get with the MEScope and share it with us.
