Does anyone know how to set up the computer to download directly from the pcmcia memory card through the card reader in a laptop?

Thanks,

Danny

Danny,
You might be able to download the data using 2130 data transfer. I use a 2130 and have dumped my data directly from the card. I don't know if the 2120 stores the data in a different format or not. You could probably contact CSI and find out if it would work or not.

Jim,

It's worth a try. I'll let you know how it comes out, but at first glance I don't see why it wouldn't work. I'll let you know how it comes out.

Thanks,

Danny

No luck using the 2130 data transfer utility. When I select a route and tell it to download the data to the pcmcia card (which it lists as the e:\ drive) I get a message in the info bar at the bottom the it failed to load the route to the card. It doesn't say why or suggest anything else.

When I got a usb-serial port adapter I had to tell RBMWare in the communications set-up to use com-4 and 115.2k baud rate. Then I had to do something else to the computer to tell it that when RBMWare came looking for com4 to send it to the usb ports, but I don't remember what it was and am afraid it won't work here anyway since everything looks at the card as a drive.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestion and anything else that you can think of would be appreciated. Download time is not a real big thing with CSI's stuff, but it would be nice not to have to carry around the communications cable and adapter. I'm carrrying enough extra stuff around my belly already.

Thanks,

Danny
