Viki,
I have done residual unbalance checks in the balance stand. You place a known weight equally spaced around the ends of a rotor one end at a time, take a reading at each location, I use 30 degrees spacing, subtract the difference between the highest and lowest readings and this will be your residual unbalance. I prefer to set the computer up to subtract so that it tells me to remove the weight from the location I placed it. If the balance job has been performed correctly, it should instruct you to remove very close to the same amount at the same angle you place the weight each time.
