When I read this, I was "stumped" with what I percieved as a demand. Then I read the next thread & commend ivbr8 for his polite response. Perhaps it is a culture clash or my lack of patience, but there is a wealth of consultants in this world that can get you in the ballpark. It appears to me that there is a lot of manufacturing spreading throughout the world that everyone has to compete with. That is fine, but my company paid for my training, & if you want to become a vib guy, then your company should too.
I apololgize to any that may take offense to this statement. Frowner

I would suggest looking at the beginners forum where there are many references sited that will give you some insight into general vibration analysis. There are also hundreds if not thousand of references floating around on the web. SKF, DLI, CSI, Rockwell-Entek, tech Associates etc. You should be able to find enough info to keep you busy for quite sometime. Read some, collect some data, do some training and learn........

I'm sure you don't mean to be rude, but a manner word, such as please, might help get a better response. A post that sounds like a demand usually doesn't get much of a response other than the ones you have received so far.

If you own Emerson-CSI intruments that measure PeakVue, then refer to their web site for several very good technical papers and application notes that describe it and how to use it.

PEAKVUE, SPIKE ENERGY, HFD, SHOCK PULSE these are all complimentary tools by which you can compliment your vibration analysis, each has its own advantages as well as limitations, almost in all the above complimentary tools you will have early detection(warning) for a bearing problem, more or less all are using peak impacts, stress waves, high frequency energy measurement results are very sensitive towards sensor orientation &location(it must be very nearer to bearing), clean(peakvue data is very sensitive to even painting), analyzing peakvue spectrum is some what difficult for normal 1500 rpm machine pk-pk wave amplitude crosses 3g-6g there may be little impacting in bearings due to lubrication, stress waves, fatigue etc. only this mucah data we are using at present we can trend based taking all care about data collection & filter set up
