Just curious as to whether anyone is using RBMview for reports. If so do you have a problem with your equipment showing up in RBMview in no where near the order it shows up any where else. For example. Your route shows up in plotdata in the equipment order EQ a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h and in Rbmview it shows up as EQ c,h,a,d,b,f,c,e (hope this made sense). If so how can I reorder it. Just makes it a pain in the rump to me.

Roy,
Does it appear in the route order rather than the order you set it up in the database? Danny |

hi Danny,
Actually it shows up in a totally unrelated order to any thing else in the database. Better explanation I guess would be take a deck of cards throw them in the air then pick them up as fast as you can type order. Sorry best I could come up with. It also does it with my area list. Roy,
Be careful. You may be divulging CSI's closely guarded programimg secrets. Danny |

Roy,
We ran into this same problem when we upgraded to RBMview. I have even questioned CSI and basically got the run around. I have one customer that takes my reports and puts the numbers into a spread sheet and I didn't think he would be too happy with jumping all over the place looking for the data in no certain order. Well, there is a reason to their madness all though I totally disagree with it. Everything is based on the machine description name in numerical/alphabetical order. The customer had supplied me with the machine list in the order he wanted so I had to add numbers then alphabetical orders so the report printed in the order he wanted. 1 thru 9 is fine but when you get to 10, 1 is seen followed by 0 which comes before 2 so 10 comes after 1. I finally worked it out so my reports print in the order my customer wants but I still haven't forgiven CSI for that one. Good Luck, Ronnie |

Roy, I use RBMview and the tree is identical to that in DBase and PlotData. When did this start happening? Anytime I change something in DBase, RBMview re-synchs. I think you can detach the database and then reattach it. But I've never done that and not sure how it works. Also, are you in 'Status At A Glance' mode?

This is how mine shows up. Patrick it's always been like this. How do I tell if I am in status at a glance mode.

In the title bar it will say "Status At A Glance." But I was playing around with it and it seems to open in 'Case History' mode (where you write up the problems) by default. I just moved some areas around in dbase, restarted RBMview and my tree was reorganized. Doesn't sound like you're synchronizing.

Roy,
I thought you were talking about how your reports printed out. I see now from further post that you are referring to your the tree in RBMview. Like Patrick stated, mine resyncs any time I make changes in the database. As soon as I open up the report function after any changes, it automatically resyncs RBMview. Where I have had problems is when I generate a report, the report does not come out in the order of the database, route, priority or severity, or RBMview tree. If I want to print a summary or problem report, it prioritizes numerical order first then alphabetical order second based on machine description. Sorry if I misinterpreted your original post. Thanks, Ronnie |
