Hello all,

does anyone know what's going on with Spintelligent? I've had equipment on order with them since March, but I think with General Dynamics' acquisition of Itronix in late 2005, their procurement of hardware has been more difficult. Now I cannot get any e-mail response, and I cannot get a human via the main phone number or the cell number I was given. I know Jon Chandler posts on this board, so hopefully I can get some sort of response via this posting.

thanks

I sent an email several days ago to the address I've always used for Jon and got no response. I can't imagine not hearing from him unless something is wrong.... perhaps illness or a personal tragedy?

Rusty

Hello Rusty

I sure hope nothing bad has happened. I have been corresponding with Eric Thompson but have not heard anything since May 30th. Our check was cashed in March for one of their SL-300 devices (to be used by our maintenance people for screening).

This is truly weird. I can't imagine any vendor just "disappearing" like this, especially guys like Jon who have been so helpful. You might contact CTC and see if they have any intel on this situation.

Maybe there are extraterrestrials who are systematically sucking up all the best vibration talent..... have you noticed that Bill Foiles has also not been heard from lately?

Guess I won't be going anywhere. Wink

Rusty,

Here is where the difference between Bill's world and ours becomes most apparent. He is probably enjoying a long, corporate financed vacation that you and I would have to retire to get. Roll Eyes

Partially correct, 50% credit -- I am taking vacation (personal leave), but I am teaching a Vibration Institute course, at this very minute (ok a break).

Last week was a training assignment; I used it to go to the University of Virginia, where I did some presentations at a short course.

Regards,
Bill

I recognize the vibe instrument as the DLI ST 101 so I called Ron Bodre. I left a voice message and hope to find out if he knows anything more than we all seem to.

By the way - yes the phone is disconnected but the fax seems to work - perhaps you would get a reply if you fax to 206- 238-6878

Will let you know what I find out.

Thanks for everyone's help. I liked the additional capabilities of the SL-300, even though I believe it uses the same algorithms as the original ST-101. Like I said, though, they've got $9000 of my company's money and I have nothing to show for it 5 months later! Doh!

Matt, did you ever make contact with them? I sent an email to Jon's personal mailbox and still never heard from him. Just wondering....

Hi Rusty,

nope, haven't heard a thing. I hate to badmouth a vendor, but one that takes $9K of my company's money for a few e-mailed promises is not my idea of integrity. Let this serve as a lesson to anyone else who is considering Spintelligent! I somehow have the feeling that they are no longer a going business concern. I ended up getting a ST-101 from DLI to serve as a simple vibration screening tool for the maintenance department.

Matt,

Did you inquire about the status of the Spin-boys at DLI, since they apparently spun off from there?

Matt, did you ever hear from Spintelligent? I had some correspondence with Eric Thompson recently and sent him a link to this topic... he seemed surprised, but didn't say if they'd done anything to resolve it. I still have never heard anything from Jon. You might try contacting Eric at: eric@spintelligentlabs.com
