I wonder if there are any pit falls associated with collecting vibration data from a standard Bently Nevada velometer (0.1 V/ips) through the CSI box.
I understand that the velometer is originally an accelerometer but it's equipped with a hardware circuit to integrate the acceleration to the out put (ie into velocity). 1. So what about the power needed for the accelerometer? 2. For the set up in the RBMWare, is it configured as Vel-->Vel? 3. From the rack, should the configuration (in the route and off route programs) consider it as the old velocity transducer? Regards- Ali M. Al-Shurafa |

1. power up the same as a 2 pole acceleromiter.
2. yes 3. If taking readings from a rack, configure the point Vel--> Vel and do not power sensor. You will have to use the right adapter that only accepts voltages and not acceleromiters. regards, Erik Concha erik.a.concha@shell.com |

I'll try to experiment this before collecting actual data from the machine and its rack.
Any other comments on the data collected by velometer compared to the data collected by an accelerometer and velocity transducer? Regards- Ali M. Al-Shurafa |
