Hello Folks
Question for C.S.I users does anybody ever run into this problem? Route data collection. When you go to plotdata you will find that the number of revolutions recorded vary all the time anywhere from 4 revolutions to 14 revolutions on the waveforms. We are on the 4.81 version. This is happening on all of the routes. And has been happening before the last upgrade. My routes are monthly and sometimes it will remain steady for as much as four or five months in a row then go on a rant and change every month.Checked spectral averages on the spectrums and they remain constant and when you check the wafeforms the fmax and the collection time will be all over the place depending on how many revolutions are showing. Confused this is kind of a head scratcher.

Hi Lee,

Sounds strange!!!

Have you contacted CSI Customer Support about this?

If you want, you could extract out a small database with several of these "problem" machines and email to me. Maybe there is something you are over looking. Just a thought. Smiler

Thanks and Have a Great Day,

Lee, are these 'fixed' or 'variable' speed machines? That will affect the Fmax if you have it set up to do a spectra at (for instance) 50 orders. Some folks will check and input the actual running speed, whereas others will just accept the default speed. Of course, if the machine speed varies a lot, then everything is going to be different if you have order-based parameters set up. Changing the Fmax will affect the corresponding waveform unless you have a 'special waveform' set up.

My suggestion is to always define special waveforms -- this assures they are the same length (for a given machine) so that you can do an apples-to-apples comparison of the waveforms.

Regards,

Rusty

The other thing to check is the number of waveform points set to be stored in the data collector (assumung you are using a 2120)

Greetings
Rusty
Almost all of the equipment I monitor are fixed speed units.
Ralph
Thank you for the offer.I may take you up on it.

Ian the number of points set to be stored is always the same.
I will be contacting C.S.I this morning and see what they have too say keep ya posted.
Thanks guys

Check under the Global Options Screen BD01. There are several RPM settings there that will screw things up. If my memory is correct the speed will jum around slightly. I seen something similar to this when I was running paper machine routes. Often the 1X is hard to determine.

Thanks I will check the globals issue. You are also correct about the 1x being difficult to find.I zipped off a small database today so we wil wait and see.
