I am starting to use two different copies of RBMWare and need to keep the database files synchronized between the two computers. I was hoping to use DBzip, but when I try to restore to the second computer, it tell me that some files are already in the destination directory and aborts.

Looking in the help file it tells me that if I am set to "Power User" (I am) I will get a menu of archiving options. This step never shows up and may be where I can eliminate the duplication.

Any suggestions?

I don't have 5.1 but it sounds like you're on the right track. I don't see why it would have changed from 4.9. What files is it bombing on? You should be getting a dialog box when you first start to archive the files asking what you want to archive. Try different selections.

You can always restore the archive to a dummy folder and then manually move the files to their destination. Or use winzip. Or if they're networked somehow you can use a third party utility for synching (I use SyncBack--it's free).

Patrick,

I agree, I SHOULD be getting a dialog box, but I'm not Roll Eyes

It's grabbing about 20 files, some of which I know what they do and some I don't.

I have always just copied the .rbm, ._rb and the .dbz files and everything worked, but for swapping back and forth, I wanted to make sure I was getting everything.

I guess using winzip is probably the best workaround, but it will be cumbersome to do on a regular basis and having the utility work right would be nice.

As always thanks for your help.
