If your analysis parameter instructed your data collector to collect PeakVue data in velocity would you expect that conversion of that data to acceleration in RBMWare Plot Data would give you an accurate spectrum?

Danny,
I'm not sure you could set the analysis parameter to set the Peakvue reading to take in
velocity. Are you sure you're not looking at the special time waveform tab? Under the Signal Processing Parameters is where you set up PeakVue. I've not seen a place for setting velocity readings there. It just sets it for Acc.

Danny this keeps happening quiet often with me. i guess if u have selected digital integration mode on the csi analyzer it would not be a problem to view in acceleration units on Rbmware without any problem.

i think if analog integration is selected the TWF will be in integrated units and as such the conversion in Rbmware may not be correct

Jim,

You are correct it is under the waveform parameters tab of the Analysis Parameter set.

I'm guessing this only applies to the special twf and not the spectrum. I don't normally collect a special twf with PeakVue, but my client had it set up that way. They were also viewing PeakVue spectra in velocity and I think the spectral plot was set to display in the stored units which made me wonder how they did that.

It makes me wonder less about how they missed 2 critical motor bearing defects Wink

Viki,

Digital/analog integration is one thing that I don't know about their settings and could very well be a factor.

Thanks

Danny

Danny,
I don't take special time wave form in PeakVue either. I know that others have been confused about the settings and the tabs on the AP set. If you don't check the box that says obtain special time wave form..it doesnt matter what you have set for units.
