As per API 611 upto 6000 rpm is comes under general purpose turbines and above 6000rpm special purpose steam turbines.
Will it be correct,If I define low speed turbomachinery as those running below 1000rpm,above 1000 upto 6000 as medium speed and above 6000 as high speed turbomachinery. |

Perhaps you can refine the classification accroding to ISO vibration standards which were mentioned in this thread.
