Does anyone know of an equivalent mounting pad (threads included) to a CSI A911 quick lock. Apparently our procurement folks are having problems with Emerson.

CTC has a similar product, the MH107 Quick Disconnect but I don't believe the parts are interchangeable. The treads look to be much finer.

I have verified that CTC's system is not compatible with CSIs.

The CTC system does have an advantage that it requires exactly 1/4 turn to lock, so that it may be used with triaxial accelerometers and the alignment will be consistent.

Each of the quick-lock systems is proprietary, so there is probably not a second source for any of them.

That's what I thought and was afraid of. We have several hundred already installed, so it's not really effective to switch to the CTC units.

Thanks,

Steve,

I just had a random thought. I wonder if the diameter of the two systems is similar? It looks like CSI uses a very course thread while CTC uses a quarter-turn arrangement that engages 5 threads over the height of the mount. It might be possible to machine 2 sets of threads that could engage either type of stud.

If you can provide some rough dimensions of the CSI stud, I'll see if it's even a posibility.

Didn't CSI use to remarket IMI stuff? I'd call them.

I also looked at IMIs solution. It's hard to say for sure, but the IMI version says "3/4 turn to lock" and the CSI spec is 1 1/4 turn to lock. So it appears that there are not compatible.

CSI has also sold Wilcoxon sensors. They have the QuickLINK system, which appears to be yet another proprietary flavor of the idea.

There are many choices for quick connects - IMI and Wilcoxon are both 1/4-28 thread, thus the 1/4 turn to lock down.
