After removing the security key from the printer port yesterday (made back-up to external harddisk of database under explorer by parallel port) en putting it back I can't get into the program anymore. I have this PC and the rest already in good use for several years without a problem so far (and nothing has changed to hardware, software or settings during these years: Windows NT, Odyssey version 1.2).

! When I had put the security key back and I directly tried to run Odyssey for the first time again, then I got the pop up with the error message " Missing or invalid security key, Please attach the correct security key and restart the program".
I acknowlegded (OK) and directly tried to start the program again. Now this second time it started up as normal. A little bit later I closed the program again. But +- 1 hour later, I wanted to start up Odyssey again and the error message keeps comming with every try. !! So it did work one time.

I already removed the security key again and reconnected it firmly several times but I keep on getting the message.

During the past +- 6 years I got this error message maybe 5 times at start up, but after clicking OK, the second time always was OK.

I don't think it is timing problem (timing of the messages sent from the software to the hardware key).
I never had this problem of not getting in so far.
Due to this problem now, I already check it by "Read me first" notes finding some things on timing. I already changed yesterday by Eregedit.exe the three security Timing Values (P,I and O). They have always been 0,0,0. I changed them to all 100 --> same result. I even changed them all to 1000 but still nothing.

I would greatly appreciate that you can give support to solve this problem urgently (what can be the reasons) ?

If you have a printer connected to the parallel port, make sure it is on when you start Odyssey. If Odyssey does not recognize the key, disconnect the printer and try the software. I know there have been issues with some printers. My printer has to be on for the Odyssey to recognize the key.

Good luck,
