I have been asked to collect shaft and casing data from a motor only, the motor has prox probes fitted (images attached)
Can I collect shaft data from these prox probes with my Commtest vb7?
Any help or advice very welcome
Mike

The VB7 can accept proximity probe signals at 200mV/mill so you should be able to get the measurements you want.

You will need to ensure that all components of the prox probe system are present i.e. probe + extension cable + proximitor and make sure that the probe and extension cable combination are compatible with the proximiter (5m or 7m lengths)

The proximitor requires power from a -17 to -24 Vdc source (or thereabouts) which can be supplied by 2 12V batteries connected in series.

Obviously, casing and displacement and shaft displacement will not be the same

Hope this helps - post more info if you need more help

Provide -24 volts power between COM and Vt

Measure vibration signal (+ DC gap volts) between OUT and COM
