Your notebook has to recognize it as a SRAM card, or there is no charging goes on.
You may have to purchae the APSOFT software for the notebook to recognize it (microsoft does not recognize SRAM cards any more).

Miguel,

Yes, when you punch the button, the card receives a MINIMAL charge. If the battery is dead already, you can't punch the button enough times to recharge it. The datapac will only maintain a charge that is there. Read my previous post, you will have to download the APSOFT software, or get an external card reader in order to charge it. I use the centennial cards also, and have no problem charging it through my card reader AFTER installing the APSOFT software. It's less than $100.00 US.

Miguel,

I can't remember all the details on exactly the events took place but here is the short version. Where I used to work we had the same issue with some replacements cards we purchased. Our IT guy had to install the drivers for the new cards. The exact name option of the cards we had was not an option in XP but one of the other options worked. We didn't have to purchase any additional software. Sorry for the lack of detail but I hope it will at least help.

Miguel:

Mi opinión es que mejor adquieras otra PCMCIA nueva y así te quitarías de problemas, solo tendrías que inicializarla y cargarle el sistema operativo del Datapac 1250. Yo tuve el mismo problema y esa fue mi única solución.

Saludos.
