Gentlemen:

I am monitoring a 250HP GE Vertical Pump Motor. The nameplate information lists the bearing numbers as:
Upper - #629A228G4
Lower Guide - #2892334P24
Obviously GE #'s - Anyone have a way to convert these bearings to SKF numbers? Thanks, DDog

The book I have lists the 629A228G4 as a 7228 bearing assembly. Four bearings assembled duplex tandem. The 2892334P24 is a 6224 bearing.

Out of curiosity, what kind of book is that? I haven't seen those Westinghouse and GE OEM part number conversions anywhere.

The book we used to use in my nuke days was a 2-volume set, pretty big. It was called the International Bearing Interchange Guide (IBI) and it had everything, including GE and I think Westinghouse. A real lifesaver.

I have an old GE interchange guide from many years ago. The book not me. Mostly for vertical hollow shafts, but many of the numbers are used across the board. Plus, working in a motor shop, we've been collecting data for many years from the bearing suppliers when we can.
