I have a Two channel 2120 and Im thinking of purchasing a single channel 2130. What is the difference? Is it a wise choice to covert to a single channel 2130?

If you aren't using the 2 channel functions of your 2120 you may not need them in a 2130. It's my understanding that you can upgrade a 2130 from 1 to 2 channel if you decide you want two channel capabilities later. Verify that with your CSI rep.
We changed to the 2130 to take advantage of a tradein CSI was offering. We made the change because CSI is ending support of the 2120 soon. I miss my 2120 but I have to say that as I get more used to the 2130 I like it too. Here's some of my likes/dislikes. I like the larger screen, though I wish there was better contrast adjustment. I like the larger storage (memory) capacity. I hate that you can't use the Multiple Route Load function like you could with the 2120. I miss MRL. I've been told it's faster but I honestly haven't noticed a great deal of difference. The function key placements could be better. I wish they were user programable. If you use the balance or alignment programs, the setup structure is harder to get around that it was with the 2120 but the programs do work well. I like that it's easy to get into the advanced analysis functions. In general, I think it's a very good box, it just takes some getting used to. This message has been edited. I would not trade a 2-channel 2120 for a single-channel "anything else".... if you are not using the 2-channel features you are missing out on a lot of diagnostic power, especially for actually "correcting" problems.
Other than that, a big "ditto" to everything Joe said..... Regards, Rusty |

is that 2130 as a standard not a Dual channel analyzer?

Rusty is right about the two channel functions, Ideally you need to learn to use them. If you did, you wouldn't want to lose the second channel.
Vibrant - The 2130 is definitely available as a 1 or 2 channel unit. |

By the way, which one is more comfortable to carry for a long time and which one is more easy for pressing "enter"?
I hope it would be 2130.. Have a nice day!!! |

I like the way the 2130 carries but I know that Rusty had issues and built a mounting board to fit his needs. There's a post here somewhere with pictures from Rusty.
The enter button is easy to hit, but I also have a problem accidently hitting the F1 button below the "Enter" button. F1 advances to the next point and if I'm not careful I collect data to the wrong point and have to back up. I don't think this is a fault with the 2130 I just get on a roll and don't pay close enough attention to my thumb placement. I actually like having the F1 (next point) and F2 (next machine) buttons where they are. |
