Hi All we currently use ThermaCAM reporter 2000 professional
One of our clients has asked us to produce an open report as a Pdf file,
He doesn’t want to install the report viewer on his computer
Can this be done using ThermaCAM reporter 2000 professional?
If so how do I get a thermography report into Pdf format?
Many thanks Mike

You will need either the Adobe Distiller or another off brand utility program to create the PDF files. We use Adobe and all you need to do is bring up the report in Reporter 2000 and choose to print it. Then go into your printer pick list from there and choose the Adobe printer. It will then walk you through - print to file, file location and other easy to do things. When it creates the file you can then attach it to emails or put on websites or anything else you would do with another file.

I have had problems with things that do not appear on the original report showing up on the PDF and making things look bad. What I found was that if you have a field on your report and the text is longer than the field it will chop off the text in the field in reporter so that it doesn't over run the space but in PDF it will print it all the way across the page if the text is that long.

I don't have ThermoCam software, but in general I have good luck with freeware program pdf995 www.pdf995.com

It allows you to send to pdf anything you would send to printer. You just have to put up with popup advertisements during printing in the free version.

I would think you would want the full lic version to be legal.

Free is good on a personal side but can lead to problems on the professional side of life.

Cordially,

Mike,
I haven´t used the pdf995, so I can´t comment on this, but here are some other alternatives you might want to check> pdffactory is a very usefull program and you can also add security to the final documents (you don´t want nobody exporting, copying or modifying your reports, for your own protection). The registered license is under $20.00 and you don´t get the "printed with the free version...." line at the bottom of each page.
The best option I´ve found is the Acrobat Proff vr.7 which allows you also to create dynamic forms, meaning with this that you´re able to have a "pretty" form, and just start "filling the blanks" for each report. However this program is quite expensive but worth every penny.

Just some thoughts.
