We have an Agema 570 that is pretty well used and abused. The guys with the money have given the nod to purchase another camera. I use to be into IR pretty heavy years ago (level II cert) but mostly do vibe these days, so I don't know what is available anymore. What can you get for about 25k that will fit the needs of a coal-fired power plant? We don't need anything route based, just a good camera to "identify, justify, and quantify" if you know what I mean. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Several of the vendors can be found at:

Mikron has a number of good cameras that would fit your needs, as does Flir. Raytech (now owned by Fluke instruments) has also come out with a pretty good camera at below your price range.

Because of the popularity of infrared, a significant number of companies have entered this field. Each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

Best thing to do is identify your need, then compare each company's capabilities to those needs. For instance, I used to use a camera strictly for checking electrical systems. For that, I was able to purchase a very basic system, at the time.
