Have any of you used the Flir Infracam or the Bcam for industrial electrical inspections?

Yes, I have.
Which one have you used and how did you like the Images that you got from it?
I am using the Infracam.
Image quality is OK but not great. Depends upon your application. |

A few key issues when considering ANY IR camera are:
1. minimum focus 2. field of view of the lens 3. size of detector array and type of detector 4. display size and type 5. image processing between detector and display (somewhat subjective) Specifications alone are often inadequate to evaluate camera performance. Personal preferences, while important, are also not always the most useful way to evaluate. Always try before you buy! John,
I guess u r right....but one main thing you forgot is the budget one have.... Infracam's image quality may not be that good as other IR Cams but it sure is affordable to many (especially to ameatures). Zeeshan. |

Of course a budget is important but only if it gets you a camera that otherwise meets your needs. There are many great choices right now, including these two, at prices that are remarkable. In the end, however, I would urge all to make certain that what you buy will get the job done.
I do have a paper I wrote on the issues I think are important to consider when selecting a camera. I'd be happy to share it with anyone who would like it. Just drop me an email. Isn't ex-rated an important criteria for explosion-prone areas?
