I am new in thermograph analysis. Right now i have a job for thermograph analysis,But i can't give the stage for the machine. Who have the standard for the Gear's bearing and motor. Please let me know.

Best regard,

I think bearings and mechanical equipment can be a tougher call that electrical equipment.

One standard is IEEE841 - Severe duty TEFC motors for the Petrochemical Industry - it specifies bearing housing temperature < 50C rise above ambient fir 2-pole motor and < 45C rise above ambient for 4-pole.

One consideration is the lubricant. Standard grease may start to have accelerated aging above 100C. If your ambient is 30C, your rise housing above ambient is 50C, and you assume the bearing might be 20C hotter than the housing, the 50C rise is about where you may start to hit 100C bearing temperature.

More importantly you should consider what is normal if you have a group of similar machines. High temperature on a bearing is most often a lubrication issue (too much grease, grease hardened etc). It might also be a clue of misalignment or lip seal problem (shaft shows up hotter than the housing).
