I am interested in hearing what you guys think about FLIR's Level I training class. More specifically, the training at their Boston facility. Do you offer a good service, or is it too vendor specific?
Are their any other choices that would be worth considering? |

Here is a recent thread that may be of interest IR Crash Training Here are some non-equipment vendor related IR Training sites. Your concern about vendor supplied training is healthy. http://www.infraredthermography.com/ http://www.snellinfrared.com/ http://www.infraredtraining.net/ http://www.infraspection.com/ Good luck Terry O |

Joe,
Snell Infrared provided our Level 1 course work. They were not vendor specific. We had both a Flir and Mikron imager in the class for the hands on portions. Having more than one brand camera gave us an opportunity to compare them. Can't speak for any other vendor. Gary B |

I've heard some things about the folks who do the training from the first link.
Does anyone have any experience with this group? |

The ITC Boston facility is very good, with extensive training labs and props, probibly the best in the industry. The training is not camera specific, as Flir themselves have too many older camera models to make it such. The Level 1 covers some camera handling, but this is done with hands on practice with whatever camera people happen to bring along.

Joe,
I can't comment on their Boston facility although I've heard nothing but good things about it. I will comment on the value of training you will receive. I attended an ITC level I course right here in Charleston SC. The trainer, Mr. Joe Demonte, gave a very thorough class. As far as vendor specific, no way, we had several makes of imagers in the class and Joe was pretty proficient with all of them. He was a very enthusiastic instructor and even though he did come a little under the weather about 1/2 way thru the training, he kept going and going and going. Hats off to you Joe D if you read this. |

Joe,
I posted the same question last year. Snell was recommended to me. I agree with what Gary B. said. Good training, non-vendor specific. Very knowledgeable instructors and demonstrations on the cameras brought to the class by students really helped answer a lot of questions I had. Don |
