Can anyone give me some good examples of when to use manual vs auto range for an E-4 camera or any camera for that matter.

I look at it this way:
I you want to detect any abnormal spot in a quick survey of many unknown places, I would use auto range. For documentation of similar objects, I prefer fixed for reasons below: If you want to check trends in repeated images over time, you must have a fixed range so that you compare apples with apples. I try at all times to use fixed scales adapted to the goal of the measurements. Customers who will get the reports will be grateful if you show danger and safety and middle in between in a consistent way. Regards Arne |

Hello Roy, thanks for kind words. I really do not know what it was. I logged in at the beginning but then there was something wrong with me writing a wrong mail address. And then I could not log in again. And it was impossible to correct or renew. But suddenly it worked. Guess Terry pushed a button. He seems to have pushed more buttons, since I cannot any longer see the old board. I hope he will make it readable since it still has a lot to read on various subjects. Especially for beginners. I could mail CD´s on it, but it is too primitive, I think. Maybe somebody reading this has a 100 Mb hole to house it in a free manner? Best regards Arne
