What would a thermal imager normally charge for a basic home or building inspection for insulation, mold growth, heating loss, that sort of thing, in the Southwest Minnesota area?

Rates vary widely due mainly to the specific scope of work being done. To conduct a simple insulation check might run $200-300 for a couple hours work. To also test for air leakage, really vital to any understanding of a building, also requires setting up a blower door ad might cost another $200. To look for moisture gets even more complex, if it is done thoroughly. A "full-blown" analysis of a residence, including a look at energy use records, might easily run $600-800 or more.

Typically that investment, however, could be completely recovered at the time of sale as, if it was done professionally, it could become part of the building's record and add to the sale price.
