I've used thermography for a number of years to detect electrical, mechanical and process anomalies. I've recently been charged with carrying out buildings inspections in the paper mill where I work. Are there any obvious areas that I should be looking at which will give quick results?

Are there any formulae that could estimate potential energy savings, from temperature differentials, area of anomally, etc?

Any inputs would be gratefully received.

Al,

Have you tried Snell's site? There is more activity concerning ir there, I think.

I've got several guesses, but that is all they are.

I know that my father-in-law used to get a fair amount of rental time in his plane flying thermographers over buildings for property management companies, so I would assume that the roof is a big source of losses. The same probably for windows.

The only advice I got from my father-in-law before he passed away was, "Don't fall out of the plane".

Good Luck,

Danny
