Gentlemen,

I am tasked with setting up an oil analysis database within Emerson CSI AMS suite Machinery Health Manager. I have never used this software package before, but intend to utilise the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). It is my intention to have the lab send me the results electronically, what format must this take for me to upload the data into the database. Any advice or experience would be helpful or am I not going to be be able to do it in this fashion.

Well I have experience on the CSI Oil Lab.

But you dont need to know which format you have to choose.....Its in the AMS Suite software..

You can go on the Help and check out how to start LIMS...

Ian,

I use Oilview and send my samples to Emerson for analysis.

If you buy the 25 sample kits they include postage (at least domestic) and have a data sheet and labels. On the data sheet is an item called Lab Unit ID Number. This is a number that you assign in the software setup and if you include it in the data sheet, CSI will send you a file that will automatically insert it into the proper place in the database.

I'm not sure how to integrate it with analysis from other labs or if you even can.

Good Luck

I believe that most labs have an option to provide their reports electronically in a format that matches the Emerson LIMS format. I know that Analysts, Inc. does.

External compatibility in a CSI Product? Now that's something new!

I'm also new in AMS with Oil Analysis. Fyi, CSI reps recommend me to check with OEM lube datasheets and store it ISO target of cleanliness. Our test will compare to this target of cleanliness (especially on particle count).

But my recent problem is, i encounter 2 microns particles reaching danger limit. Is this really severe? Because it is just 2 microns particles over limit in the lube. Does it affect our lube system much???
