Does any one know of any articles on the proceedure for taking Transformer oil samples and maybe a list of do and do nots?
Also does anyone know the best way to get rid of old transformer oil? |

That would also include handling of the sample syringes after they're drawn. A few thoughts: Never try to sample an energized instrument transformer. (CT or PT). It may cause a violent explosion. Stay away from sampling deenergized bushings unless you really know what you're doing with respect to cleanliness. Check for indication of positive pressure before you open a sample valve. There's no substitute for training. |
