I have been ask to look for another lab to send our oil to for analysis. We currently get "free" samples by our oil supplier at their chosen vender. We basically pull the samples send them off and they email us a report. Some of the reports have been questionable. Can anybody recommend a vender they have been using with good success?

Thanks Dave. What type of test would you recommend for Paper Mill applications? I breifly looked at their web site and I know there are different test they can perform and some can be costly. We have a typical paper mill: dust, water, heat and paper stock are our worst enemies. Which test could you recommend and do you have a sample report I could look at thanks. johnny.reed@caraustar.com

Sorry Dave. I went back to the website and saw sample reports. I still would like others recommendations on particular test I should use for these applications.

I am currently using Analysts, Inc. and am pleased with their service.
http://www.analystsinc.com/ Other labs I know and respect are: Condition Monitoring International http://www.cmiglobal.biz/index.htm Herguth Labs http://www.herguth.com/ Maintenance Reliability Group http://www.mrgcorp.com/ PdMA http://www.pdma.com/ Stavely Services http://www.staveleyfa.com/public/FLhome.asp There are many good labs out there, get one that provides the shortest turnaround time for those critical samples. Contact the labs and have them provide information on what tests they would recommend for your installation, the aforementioned turnaround time and the cost. You also want to know how they evaluate the results for your equipment. Most labs have information sheets that you fill out that will provide the analyst with critical information on the specifics of your machines to make an informed call on condition. You are looking for tests that will inform you on the condition of the lubricant, contaminants and the condition of your machine. Ken Culverson |

We currently use PDMA in Tampa. I have been satisified with their service and the reports. Occasionally, we want a sample analyzed in a hurry and we generally get 24 hour service.
Hope this helps, Gary B |
