WE have been getting some debris in out press hydraulic filter bowl. The particles are large (up tp 3 mm) and are non metallic: at lease they don't look like metal. They look like carbon partials. we need to know how what this is coming from, be it gasket, or plastic deterioration. Can someone recommend a analysis lab that can tell me where the heck this is coming from or what it used to be? This isn’t a job for normal oil analysis.

Bill Herguth has sent me contaminant debris filtered from hydraulic fluid for analysis in the past. I analyze the particles using SEM/EDS methods.
