I can think of three things that may cause this.
Is there also water in your crankcase oil? Does your car have an automatic transmission? Since most radiators operate under about 15 pounds of pressure your leak will have to overcome this to enter the radiator. Then when your car is shut down the pressure from the radiator can migrate the water the other direction through the leak. Also I have seen people buy what is called water pump lubricant that is supposed to go into your radiator. I think this a bunch of hooey. Water pump bearings are sealed from the water side of the pump 1. A blown head gasket. 2. A bad gasket on your intake manifold. 3. A leak in the cooling line for your automatic transmission if your car is equiped with one. |

Arrived at work: 7A, posted 7:30 - bump ride home at 8A or FORD at 5P. BTW - FORD = find on road destroyed.
Unless you have grimlens (someone sneaking out and putting oil in) you have a bad situation. Water in oil or any red color? White engine oil. Oil cooler, transmission cooler or both? I wouldn't drive it until I found out something. Cordially, Sam |

Sounds like a blown head gasket to me. Does the oil look milky? and if the engine is running at idle are you getting air bubbles in the coolant at the top of the radiator? If yes to both then you could just about bet on it as head gasket problem. These are just my experiences.
