I need to change oil and filter on a Yale Gasoline Forklift. How CAn I access the drain plug? Can a car Hydraulic Jack be used to lift to access? any Forklifters out there?

Don't familiar with the model, but I wouldn't use a car hydraulic jack, these things (forklifts) have normally a heavy counterweight.

What about using a second forklift? Can a forklift raise its own weight?

How much weight this forklift?
How much is the capacity of the hydraulic jack?

Normally we drive the forklift on a small elevation close to a drain pit, the other way is to make a drainbox, 2 ft x 2 ft x 5 inch high, construct some weels or bearings and roll it under the forklift.

I have a 350 engine w/pump and go from the top side.

If jacking up to access underneath; crib up w/cross ties or adequate jack stands.

Do not use a car jack. They are not designed for that application. We have a large fleet of fork trucks and our shop has a 7 ton electric hoist with chain slings to raise the unit. Then jack stands are used to stablize it. May want to check with the manufacturer to see what they recommend. What ever you do, do it safely!!
