What kind of cost savings can I show if we do particle count on hyd units to determine when to change filters We have also installed grease lines to hard to reach bearings Thanks for any info Gary

First, particle counter is an oil analysis laboratory instrument that is used to measure the cleanliness of the oil given in NAS and ISO standards, although I prefer to use the ISO standards in 3 digits.

If oil can be maintained clean then you can prolong the life of the additives which means that you prolong the life of extending the oil change. You can measure the cost in changing oil per year if you can maintain your oil. Second and most relevant will be the parts that fail when your oil is unclean and lots of contaminants in them. MTBF of these parts can be lengthen, such as cylinders, solenoids, bearings, pumps etc.
