A couple years back I saw (I think at a lube expo) some lubrication ID tags that could be affixed to or the zerk, button head or bearing. We need just a simple tag that tells the oil or grease type for each point. I have found larger tags on the internet that give detail for frequencies etc but we don't need all of that..Just a durable tag for lube ID. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a vendor of such tags ?

I sell a simple aluminium tag that I have laser etched with the applicable information. These are professional looking, easily indentifiable and very durable in most applications.
Alternatively you could just use a die grinder or engraving tool to etch in whatever info you like. These can be purchased in various colours so I can colour code these for either grease types or differing sampling points. For a cheap alternative use a dog tag that dog owners put on there collars, they are aluminum and come in various colours, shapes and sizes. Hope this helps and is of use. |

Dear JE,
Plastic, color coded tags/covers are available for grease zerks in the McMaster-Carr catalog (http://www.mcmaster.com/) page 2004. You can get a package of 100 for just over $5.00 |
